Our Story
A New Beginning for an Old Place
The Gardiner Arms has been serving the Tackley village community for almost 250 years and in 2024 it began a new chapter in it's history as it re-opened it's doors for the first time in over a year as a pub now entirely operated by members of the local community.
All of our members and volunteers come from the local area and although they all come from different backgrounds they all share one thing: A Passion for the Pub!

We are dedicated to delivering a Pub experience worthy of the local community and as members of that community we are passionate to succeed.

Everyone is welcome in our pub (including four-legged friends!) and we are always open to ideas and suggestions as to how we can improve the pub experience for you.
Join Us!
We are always welcome to new volunteers wanting to join our team. If you've ever fancied a shift behind a bar or think you could help out with waitressing we're happy to welcome you in. No experience is necessary and training is provided, flexible hours suited to you and a fun way to meet new people in the community.
We also welcome volunteers to help with washing up and cleaning.
